Our Story

The story of Spice Ranger

The Old West was a tough place. Hardy people travelled the land on foot or on horseback, finding shelter where they could and eating what they could carry or catch. Their boots were worn, their horses were tired, and their food mostly tasted terrible.

Anything that made food taste better was highly prized, and many cooks were defined by the spices they carried. Our family tells the story of a mysterious cook that we call the Spice Ranger, with his own spice blend collected from north and south of the border, that made everything taste better.

The Spice Ranger travelled the Southwest, making a name for himself in places like Dodge City and Tombstone. His legend grew, mostly because his spice blend was the best around, but also because he never shared its secret. When he died it was thought he took his secret to the grave.

But he didn’t.

Passed down through the generations by word of mouth, the Spice Ranger blend today is the taste that still evokes the Old West. Made with no artificial ingredients, and with no sugar (because sugar spoils in a saddle bag), this mouth-watering Spice Blend will enhance the true flavors of most any food – proteins, grains and vegetables. Added to the pot, and rice and beans will transform into a gourmet meal!

Apply liberally as a dry rub on dishes set for the BBQ or the pan. Add as seasoning to potatoes, eggs and salads. Your food will taste the way the Spice Ranger intended it to taste – truly amazing.

Campfires optional.
